The Secret Ingredient is More Meat

In spring 2023, The Noisy released Morricone with a Strega Nona-meets-Clint Eastwood music video, launching a crowdfunding campaign for their debut album, More Meat, produced by Jacob Lawter (Slow and Steady). Partnering with artists like ceramicist Lou Howard, illustrator Sarah Moore, designer Alex Bruce, and multimedia artist Em Vieser, they sold merch, raffled a cowboy hat, and ran a GoFundMe alongside a month-long tour, raising over $3,000 to bring More Meat to life—an album for their queer community.

More Meat was featured in WXPN, Post-Trash, Rosy Overdrive, and The Alternative, with The Noisy performing tracks from the record at iconic venues like Union Transfer, Knoxville’s World’s Fair Park, Radio Room, and MASS MoCA.

The Noisy is a dream pop/synth soft rock band based in Philly, originally formed in Knoxville, TN, where frontperson Sara Mae studied poetry. They developed their sound with Josh Sorrells (Easy Does It), Jacob Lawter (Slow and Steady), Ashton Baker (Bugs Baker), and Nyleen Perez (Pueblo Now). The current lineup includes Sara Mae Henke, Nate Kim (Glitterspitter), and Daniel Sohn (Daniel Sohn, Sunday Evening Drive). For fans of Japanese Breakfast and Jay Som, with a touch of Chappell Roan. The Noisy is currently working on LP2.
